Shark Week - Shark Freebie!
I love summer, for so many reasons. And one of those reasons is Shark Week! Not only do I find sharks quite scary, I also find them very interesting. I can't help watching when they are on tv.

Write the Room - Short Vowels
I just finished and posted the rest of my Write the Room - Short Vowels packets. These activities are a great way for your students to practice CVC words as well as different word families. I use them in my room during center time. The kids love being able to walk around with their clipboards and search for each word. It's a center time scavenger hunt!
The word cards can also be used during small group time to work on word sorts and to reinforce word families.

Summer!
I'm all packed up and summer is officially here!!
As much as I love my job, I also love being able to get up and drink my coffee without rushing out the door. Most of all though, I love the time I get to spend with my two boys. They are still at an age where they don't mind spending the summer with mom, so I will take advantage of every day! (Before they decide I'm not cool enough.)

As an added bonus, look at the treasures I found at Target today. Yes, I know it is summer, but I just can't walk past the Dollar Spot without checking it out. Cute school supplies and fun, bright colors...
I couldn't pass them up.
